New videos added!

We just uploaded two more videos to our http://YouTube.com/MyPowerfulhome channel. See how to use your portable gas generator or diesel generator to power your home in a power outage. It is a great option fo the DIY or for the homeowner who feels more confident with the skills of an electician. If you have a generator already, then all that you need to do is determine the amount of circuits that the generator can power. For example, if you have a 5000 watt generator, then you can power a fridge (400w), freezer (500w), medium sized microwave (1200w), gas furnace fan (900w), compact flourescent or LED circuit lighting,(150w), and a TV & computer (500w,750w). The total is about 4400 watts. These are approximate wattages, so be sure to check indiviual appliances. If you leave out the microwave you could use a 3200w or a 4000w generator. Enjoy the videos!

Sun Tracking Solar Array

This customer already had their solar panels when they called us about installing them on their house. They brought them with them when they moved from Hawaii to the states. Now, that was a very smart decision. They new the value of their investment.

The problem that Keith discovered when assessing their home was that they didn't have any South facing roof space to mount them. Keith suggested mounting them on a sun tracking device. It works like a sunflower, following the sun with its face at a 90degree angle to the sun to optimize photon absorbtion. Sun tracking increases energy production up to 50%! It follows the sun all day and then resets to the East ready for the morning rays.

Here is a quick video that demonstrates sun tracking.http://www.mypowerfulhome.com/sun-tracker-system

Up On the Roof Top....another Solar Installation

Keith and the crew are up on the roof of another home in Payson, Utah installing a large solar array. It has 20 Andalay Solar high efficiency panels. With each panel having the output capacity of 175 watts, that makes this solar array a 3500 kilowatt! These are sooo easy to install that you can be a do-it-yourself renewable energy specialist. No really, these are the easiest out there for the quality and price due to the self racking system. We will design a system for you and drop ship them to your house. Keith is always available to talk you through a tough spot.

Andalay Solar panels are great because they have micro-inverters on each solar panel. This insures optimumization of your system. The micro-inverter reports on each panel's output. You can monitor the array out put from your computer year-round.
Look for a short video coming up very soon.
